# Buildx

> Buildx is a self-hosted, MIT-licensed AI chatbot builder by Mayon Labs. Source code: https://github.com/MayonLabs/buildx (MIT License). Operators create bots in a dashboard, attach a knowledge base (PDF/DOCX/TXT), and embed them on any website via a single `<script>` tag. Bots run on Google Gemini 2.5 and Qdrant vector search. No subscription fees, no data lock-in — every component runs in the operator's own cloud accounts.

The product is aimed at founders, support leads, and small product teams who want a chat widget like Intercom or Drift but without per-seat pricing or vendor lock-in. A typical deployment costs a few dollars per month in Gemini API usage; everything else fits inside free tiers (Vercel, MongoDB Atlas, Qdrant Cloud).
